RSA Europe at #EURegionsWeek
Finally back in person!
Finally back in person!
It was such a joy to finally be able to meet again and facilitate knowledge exchange as part of the 2023 EU Regions Week held in Brussels between 9-12 October 2023. With over 430 delegates at our sessions and many more visiting our exhibition stand it was a great opportunity to showcase latest research and the work of RSA and RSA Europe.
As in previous years, the learned societies the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) and the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP) led by RSA Europe developed and delivered the Week’s University Programme.
#EURegionsWeek University Programme:
In six University sessions, we showcased new research to the largely policy audience.
- Remote Work Possibilities to Enhance Border Regions Labour Markets
- Discussing Persistent Legal-administrative and Institutional Border Barriers Across the EU
- Do you Believe in Climate Neutrality by 2040? Levers and Cornerstones of the Transformation
- Mid-sized University Cities in the European Union: Graduate Flows and Local Labour Market
- ‘Left Behind Places’: Findings of a Cross-National Study
- How European Regions can Stop the Brain Drain and Attract New Talent
Partnership work with the EPRS:
In addition to the University sessions, we also organised a session in partnership with the Research Service of the European Parliament Research for Policy Makers: the European Parliament highlighting their support for policymakers.

We were present in the Exhibition Hall (Agora) side by side with EU institutions, regional development agencies and EU-funded projects.
Sally Hardy delivered a talk session highlighting how researchers can support the work of policymakers and how RSA Europe can support this exchange and networking: Research today, Policy tomorrow – Regional Studies Association and RSA Europe.
